I saw this pudding recipe on the New York Times a couple years ago and have been dying to try it ever since. I figured what better way to enjoy some chocolate pudding than in a dirt cup!
Dirt Cups
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar (65g)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (30g)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- pinch of kosher salt
- 2 cups non-dairy milk soy or oat
- 4 oz dark or semisweet chocolate (115g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 20 gummy worms
- 10 Oreos I used GF Oreos
Instructions
- Add milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt to a pot over medium heat and whisk to combine and there are no lumps left.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer then continue to cook it for another 10 minutes until thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove from the heat and add in chocolate chips and vanilla. Mix vigorously until the chocolate has melted.
- Put mixture in the fridge to cool for 2-3 hours.
- Add Oreos to a food processor and blend until they form a fine crumb.
- Once the pudding is cool, separate it into 8 individual cups, then top with crumbled Oreos and gummy worms!

The cook time says 3 hrs…is that accurate?

This is accounting for the time it takes the pudding to cool š
